Phinehas – Forever West

Tijdens het jaarlijkse festival ‘Christmas Rock Night‘ in Enneptal, Duitsland zag ik de band Phinehas voor het eerst live. Toen speelden ze al wat nieuwe muziek van het komende album ‘Till the End“. Naar mijn idee vullen ze het metalcore ‘pur sang’ gat dat de inmiddels omstreden band As I Lay Dying achterliet goed op. Onlangs brachten ze een videoclip uit bij het nummer ‘Forever west’. Over, in mijn eigen woorden, volhouden of, zo je wil, ‘dom doorgaan’. Dat is precies wat we lijken te doen bij verlies (zie vorige lyric posts). Anderzijds: wat is het alternatief? Fight through the night. Forever West.
