De Zwitserse band Eluveithie gaat al ruim 20 jaar mee en weeft al die jaren verschillende folk en metal stijlen door elkaar heen. Wat mij betreft met wisselend succes want niet ieder album was vernieuwend en wist me (blijvend te pakken). Met Anv lijkt dat te lukken!

Fear Dark Records
De band kwam op mijn rader doordat ze in 2006 een album uitbrachten onder het Nederlandse Fear Dark Records label. Die liefde was al snel weer voorbij omdat ze de daarop volgende albums uitbrachten onder het Duitse Nuclear Blast Records. Maar toch, de band was op mijn (onze) rader verschenen en zou daar niet meer van verdwijnen. Alhoewel een Europese band, zag ik ze nog nooit live. Qua teksten moet je er niet teveel van verwachten: het is echt folk en op z'n best conceptueel interessant. Maar des te melodieuzer en (soms) metal-pittig. Ook hun 2019 release Ategnatos staat nog regelmatig aan. Check van het album Anv ook zeker de single The Prodigal Ones.
