Natuurlijk houd ik het 'band roster' van Solid State Records goed in de gaten, maar het is óók goed om je te beseffen dat de wortel daarvan ligt bij Tooth and Nail. Dus ja, ook die houd ik in de gaten (maar minder goed). Naast Off Road Minivan kan ik ook Mirours, Tigerwine en Idle Threat aanraden.

Driemaal is scheepsrecht?
In 2018 kwam onder het label Tooth and Nail de EP Spiral Gaze voorbij en die sprak me zo aan dat ie pardoes eindigde in mijn eindejaarslijst dat jaar. Full-length album Swan Dive deed precies hetzelfde in 2020; het album bracht me terug naar de early zero's. Of 2023 album May This Keep You Safe From Harm hetzelfde flikt valt nog te bezien, maar een lyric post tijdens de gebruikelijke, zomerse blog- en podcastdroogte staat buiten kijf. Wederom lekkere rock die vooral lekker rockt en nergens cheesy wordt. Qua tekst sprint die nummer er voor mij niet uit, maar qua melodie juist wel. En daarom mag ie hier nu toch online :) O ja, wist je dat bassist Ryan O'Leary ook de bassist is van de band Fit for a King (#1 in 2018)? Check ook Cheerleader.
