Recent verscheen het solo album van Lacey Sturm die onder de christelijke rockers geen onbekende is. Jaren was ze het gezicht en geluid van de band Flyleaf waarvan het laatste album uitkwam in 2014. Nu dus een (tweede) keer solo en deze single sloeg direct in bij me.

Flyleaf en die andere twee
Er zijn nog twee christelijk (hard-rock) bands die worden geleid door een vrouw en dat zijn Fireflight en The Letter Black. Vooral Fireflight en Flyleaf heb ik vroeger vaak door elkaar gehaald. Alledrie de bands hebben mijn aandacht door de jaren heen niet weten vast te houden, maar wat Fireflight deed in 2020 met hun album 'Who We Are: The Head and the Heart' en The Letter Black deed in 2021 met het self-titled album 'The Letter Black' doet nu Lacey Sturm solo met haar album Kenotic Metanoia. Drie ijzersterke albums die de professionaliteit, diepgang en talent van de bands en zangers typeren.
O ja, luister vooral ook het prachtige nummer Don't Let Me Go van Fireflight. Door mij niet te luisteren zonder kippenvel. Wát een stem. En dat geldt evenzo voor Lacey Sturm.
